Product Introduction
The Tachikaze was commissioned in March 1976 as the lead ship of the JMSDF's second-generation Tachikaze-class missile destroyer.
It was equipped with the Tartar-D, the latest integrated missile system at the time, and was capable of carrying the Standard Missile (SM-1MR).
In 1998, the ship underwent modifications, including the removal of the rear turret and the addition of a new command center. As the flagship of the escort fleet, the ship remained in service until 2007.
