Woody Joe 1/75 Scale Wooden Model Assembly Kit of Jisho-ji Temple and Silver Pavilion
The Silver Pavilion (a National Treasure) is a building within a mountain villa built in Higashiyama, Kyoto, by Ashikaga Yoshimasa, the eighth shogun of the mid-Muromachi period.
After Yoshimasa's death, it became Jisho-ji Temple, and Silver Pavilion refers to its Kannon Hall.
Completed in 1489, it, along with its garden, exemplifies the spirit of Higashiyama culture.
Officially named Higashiyama Jisho-ji Temple, it was one of the sub-temples of the original Japanese temple.
It is known as Ginkaku-ji Temple in contrast to Kinkaku-ji Temple.
