Bicycle disc brake pads are modern braking devices that generate friction between metal discs and brake pads to brake vehicles. Compared to traditional brake pads, disc brake pads have better braking performance, higher reliability, and longer service life.
The working principle of bicycle disc brake pads is based on the generation of friction. When the brake pedal is pressed, the piston inside the brake master cylinder is pushed, and pressure is transmitted to the cylinder piston on the brake caliper through brake oil. After being subjected to pressure, the piston will move outward and push the brake pads to clamp the brake disc, causing friction between the brake pads and the brake disc, thereby reducing the rotational speed of the wheels.
Bicycle disc brake pads are mainly composed of the following parts: friction material, insulation layer, adhesive, backing plate, sound-absorbing pad, and accessories. Friction material is the core part of brake pads, and its performance directly affects the overall performance of brake pads. The insulation layer is located below the friction material to prevent rapid heat transfer to the metal backing plate and maintain the stability of the brake system
