Absorbing vibration energy allows the stylus to better contact the grooves of the record. The delicate bond between the diamond tip and groove is critical: Hudson Hi-Fi's acrylic mat improves dynamics and provides a neutral "see-through" sound quality. Matte produces a fresh, modern look, improved midrange, tighter bass response, and less flashy sound. Compatible with any turntable with a 12-inch platter. The hard mat is 3mm thick and requires minimal adjustment for vertical track angles. The playback surface is very smooth and the label recess supports the record perfectly. The back is just as smooth as the front, perfect for setting arm bias (anti-skate force). Simply place the needle on it and adjust until the arm stays in the same place without moving towards the center or edges.
