The brand gained fame with its first pocket watch, the 'Broadway Limited,' which was known for providing accurate train times.
In 1914, it was selected as a supplier to the U.S. Air Force and began providing timekeeping services for skiing competitions and the U.S. Postal Service from 1919.
In the 1930s, it was used as an official watch by several airlines.
During World War II in 1947, Hamilton temporarily suspended public sales and manufactured nearly one million military watches.
In 1970, it introduced the world's first digital watch, the 'Pulsure.'
In 1977, it was acquired by the Omega-Tissot-Lanco Group's SSIH and merged into SMH in 1983, currently standing as a brand of the Swatch Group.
