Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Which ankle support is best for protecting your ankle? (Male, 20s, Futsal)
A: If you're looking to stabilize your ankle, we recommend the thin, easy-to-fit "FA-1." It doesn't use plastic or other materials, minimizing bulk inside the shoe. It's also made of breathable materials. However, if you're prone to sprains and want to prevent them from twisting, a product with a built-in stay like the "A1-Short" is a better choice.
Q: Should I wear a support on both feet? Is it okay to wear just one? (Male, Teens, Volleyball) A: At ZAMST, we recommend wearing one support on both feet. This is because ankle sprains can occur at any time, so we recommend using them as a preventative measure. The "A1-Short," "A1," and "A2-DX" can be used to prevent recurrence of ankle sprains after an existing one, as well as for those who have never had a sprain. However, wearing them on just one foot is also fine. In fact, some top athletes play with only one support on each foot. Please use them with confidence.
Q: I use knee and ankle supports. Is it okay to wear knee and ankle supports on the same foot? (Male, 30s, Basketball)
A: Regarding knee and ankle supports, there's no problem with wearing both. However, the injured areas have lost muscle strength and their response is also reduced, so be sure to stretch more thoroughly to awaken the muscles before starting exercise. Also, ankle supports don't need to be too tight; they will still restrict movement sufficiently. Tightening them too tightly can cause numbness, so please be careful.
Q: I sometimes get inversion sprains while running. I don't get injured very often otherwise, so should I still use supports? (Male, Teens, Handball)
A: Supports are not only worn when an injury occurs, but also to help prevent injury. Since twisting your ankle often happens unexpectedly, such as after bumping into someone or jumping, we recommend wearing the support from a time before injury. If you're worried about wearing it constantly, we recommend wearing it only during games or complex training sessions where you're more likely to get injured, and removing it when running. For inversion support and injury prevention, we recommend the "A1." If the support is too strong, try the "A1-Short," which offers a lighter level of support.
