The world of Gaming is one of the parallel worlds protected by four goddesses. These four goddesses are engaged in a battle for world dominance, later known as the Guardian Goddess War. However, the human world below is overrun with monsters due to a plot by Mageconne. During this battle, one of the goddesses, Neptune, is defeated by the other goddesses and cast down from Heaven to the Underworld, losing her memory. Guided by Compa and IF, whom she meets in the Underworld, and a mysterious voice calling itself Histoire, Neptune embarks on an adventure across the four continents of the Underworld.
