Product introduction
Trio with Shozo Nakagawa (Fl), Kazuhiko Obata (Gt), and Gennoshin Yasui (Perc) 16 years since formation! The sensibility of the three people overflows like a spring with reliable technology and a wide range of music. This work, which is the first in 8 years, is a gem with a “art” theme that clearly spans their aesthetics.
“FONTE (fonte)” means “spring” in Portuguese. Clean water that springs from the ground. It is a blessing from the earth, and it is also a mystery. FONTE was formed in 2004 by 3 people with different backbones. The first live recorded album “Live At Corcovado” was released in 2005. ' The second album “Conforto” ('10) with the theme of “comfort” and the third album “Energia” ('12) with the theme of “energy” were released. And the new work that will be released for the first time in 8 years is this work “MIKAZUKI.” The theme this time is 'art'. The three spent plenty of time arranging and recording, and invited three skilled bassists, Koichi Noh, Kiichiro Komobuchi, and Ryoji Orihara, as guests for a wonderful session. Combining jazz and classical elements while mediating Brazilian music, this album is the crystallization of FONTE's aesthetics by three musicians making full use of their techniques!

“TRACK LIST”
01.Catavento e Girassol
Song by Brazilian guitarist/composer Ginga. The deep sound of melancholy alto flute, lyrical acoustic guitar, and woody drums is a fantastic sound.
02.Polaris
Polaris is the North Star. Obata Kazuhiko's original, created with an eye on “Oto no Michishirube.” A refreshing number with a light arpeggio performance and Orihara's fretless bass, and Nakagawa's flute soars in a light groove.
03.Inutill Paisagem
Famous song by Antonio Carlos Jobin. Featuring Koichi Noh's acoustic bass, Nakagawa's elegant flute and Obata's bossa nova guitar play a delicate ensemble like a beautiful still life.
04. Violin Conserto in D Major,1st mov.
Tchaikovsky's “Violin Concerto in D Major, 1st Movement”. Arranged by jazz master Masahiko Sato for Nakagawa Shozo's masterpiece “Touch of Spring.” Welcome Kiichiro Komobuchi to the electric bass, and enjoy plenty of Nakagawa's lively performances.
05.Lady K
The song is based on the “Cyclic Chord Assignment Song” written by young Nakagawa Shozo when he was a student at Tokyo University of the Arts when he took an external class presided over by Mr. Watanabe Sadao, who had just returned from the US at the time.
06. Shining in the Crescent Moon/ Mikazuki “Shining in the Crescent Moon: Mikazuki,” which was the basis for the album title, is also an original composed by Obata. It plays a melody like a flute sings, and lets me listen to a superb guitar solo in the midfield.
07.Interlude (Intermezzo for Flute & Guitar)
The original song is an interlude for flute and guitar by Jacques Ibert (France). This is also a song arranged by jazz master Masahiko Sato and recorded in “Touch of Spring.” The slow and rapid dramatic development that makes you feel the flamenco taste is wonderful.
08.Central River
This is also a Ginga song, and the song is called “My Fingers Are Full.” It is a song written for 2 guitars, but here it is an interplay between flute and guitar due to Obata's arrangement.
09. Cheio de Dedos
It is a song dedicated by Obata to Nakagawa, and is inspired by the style of jazz guitarist Pat Martino.
10.Goiabada
A song inspired by Goiabada, a Brazilian sweet that Obata received from a friend. While percussion incorporating the rhythms of northeastern Brazil creates a tropical mood, the flute flies happily.
