Kurume, Fukuoka, is known as a textile production center. Cotton-filled hanten production began after the war and now accounts for 95% of the national production share. In reference to the famous Kurume Kasuri fabric, it has been called "Kurume hanten" since around 1960.
Every stitch is carefully stuffed and sewn by hand, and only products that pass strict inspection are shipped. The padding is of the highest quality, so it will fluff up again and again if you dry it in the sun.
